| Amongst
the flagship initiatives of the Bedfordshire Police Partnership Trust are its
immensely popular road safety training courses, which are available to both
novice and experienced drivers. |
|

The
Partnership's contribution to the all important field of driver education
started with the introduction of a training course entitled Filling the
Gaps - designed to literally 'fill the gaps' in drivers' knowledge of road
safety and hazard awareness. |
|
|
|

The
Filling the Gaps course includes the use of training videos,
multi-media hazard awareness training software, and practical instruction. It
was introduced with considerable and continuing assistance from Vauxhall
Motors, using their showrooms and facilities for the training sessions that
usually last up to 3 hours. |
|

The
Filling the Gaps course has proved so popular and successful that the
Partnership has now introduced two additional courses, Company Defensive
Driving and Practical Skid Control. The latter course is held at
the world famous Millbrook Vehicle Proving Ground in Bedfordshire. There is
also a selection of First Aid courses, from the very basic 'Appointed Person'
course, right through to 'First Aid at Work' and 'Ambulance Aid Course'
courses. |

Millbrook staff have provided invaluable help and support to the
Partnership as well as providing the venue and equipment for the Skid Control
course. |
|
|
|
The
Partnership driver training courses are available to everyone, regardless of
age and experience. |
