The Bedfordshire
Police Partnership Trust was formed in May 1997 by the Police Authority, the
Chief Constable and a number of major local companies acting as Founder
Members. It now operates as a registered charity, funded by donations and
annual subscriptions from local businesses. The principal aims of the
Partnership Trust are
- to improve the
quality of life of all communities in Bedfordshire, especially the more
vulnerable groups.
- to support community
based initiatives such as crime prevention, community safety, drug awareness,
schools liaison, road safety and accident prevention.
- to offer the
business community a way of supporting and working with their local police in
tackling the important issues of maintaining a safe and happy environment for
their customers and staff.
